ToBe Maps is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) app that allows users to view and share 3D digital designs superimposed onto real-world construction sites using mobile devices. This tool enhances site understanding, risk minimization, and stakeholder engagement by enabling the visualization of BIM models in site.

ToBe Maps distinguishes itself through its device-agnostic approach to augmented reality (AR), enabling seamless access to AR capabilities across various platforms. This flexibility ensures that all project stakeholders, regardless of their device preference, can engage with immersive, detailed project visualizations. Deep integration with ToBe Builder and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) enhances ToBe Maps’ utility, allowing for a seamless flow of data and models between detailed construction planning tools and AR visualization. This integration ensures that the most current project information and models are always available for AR experiences, enhancing the accuracy and relevance of on-site visualizations.

Key Features

Calibration and Positioning.

ToBe Maps provides multiple calibration modes, including image target for vertical and horizontal adjustments and Map or Modelbased 2-point Manual Calibration for precise alignment. This ensures accurate overlay of AR models on construction sites, enhancing the visualization accuracy of digital models in real-world settings.

Model Visualization and Interaction.

Features like adjustable model transparency and Quick Adjust for model positioning offer users enhanced interaction with BIM models in AR. These tools allow for detailed exploration and manipulation of models, facilitating an immersive inspection and understanding of project designs.

Navigation and Viewing Options.

With the Map View (BIM Viewer) and draw distance slider, ToBe Maps optimizes navigation within BIM models, allowing users to focus on specific details or gain an overview of the entire project. This aids in efficiently exploring and understanding complex project layouts.

Detailed Model Inspection.

Full 4D Timeline Support.

AR Views can include a date range (ToBe Builder Pro license required). This will export the BIM links, Resources and Paths for the selected date range allowing the user to visualize a 4D construction sequence at the construction location. AR Views that include time data will load with the timeline UI enabled.

Resource Keyframe Animation.

For sequences that include Time, ToBe Maps include full support for resource keyframe animations. This allows users to perceive the movement of equipment, people and materials through the real-world space at 1:1 scale.

Construction 4D Planning Visualisation.

ToBe Maps enables users to seamlessly publish BIM designs to the field through our iOS and Android mobile apps, offering an 4D augmented reality experience anytime, anywhere.
